A fantastic new find for mummy!!

As I updated in my last post, I have been suffering with severe itching with my change or hormones and incredibly dry skin, I had been using lush cream to help, which it was but I was needing to reapply 4 or 5 times a day to keep on top of the itch. This week I was fortunate enough to have been sent a box of samples from Weleda…..lots of wonderful things for myself, bear and for our new cub too. I thought I would try a few of the samples out, seeing as they are a holistic, natural company I thought I might be ok with their stuff. Turns out I was right….

skin food

One of the samples was this skin food, designed for dry and rough skin it moisturised my legs (my worst effected area) so intensely, the first day I tried it I only needed to reapply it twice, the following day, just once!! At roughly £10 a tube, it isn’t the cheapest, but can currently be found in Holland and Barrett’s on their buy one get one half price sale. I have also used this on my face, feet and even treated hubby to a foot rub too!!

Stretch mark oil

The Weleda stretch mark oil made an equally good impression on me this week, it rubs on just like any other oil, but the smell is amazing, instantly makes me feel relaxed. I’m getting very paranoid about stretch marks now, so I am using this once or twice a day (I barely bothered with any cream when I was pregnant with bear, but my bump appeared a lot quicker this time around).

Was just a quick one this morning, to update you on my new loves, because sometimes mummy needs a bit of a treat too! Busy week ahead for us this week, so hopefully will post an updated picture thread towards the end of the week.

Day 6 on the milk challenge!!

So we have reached day 6 and still going! Had a little panic on day 4 as Bear hadn’t poo’d at all during day 3….which is very unlike him! But once the parcel arrived we were back on track as it looked ‘normal’! Although Bears bowel movements have been relatively normal he has changed a little over the last 5 days….he now cries and screams at any little thing, mummy now has a bear shaped necklace as he just hangs off it for long periods of time, other times he just doesn’t know what he wants to do….doesn’t want cuddles, doesn’t want to play, doesn’t want to sit and watch his beloved Chuggington dvd! He has been a little bit of a nightmare at night times too….haven’t had a decent nights sleep for a few nights now and we are beginning to feel it!! We thought bear had gone off his food too as meal times were a struggle, turns out he just wanted to have the plate/bowl himself….didn’t want to be spoon fed or eat off his tray like he normal would. We were a little nervous about letting him do this as (like most 11 month olds would) we feared the bowl would be launched across the room!! He ate brilliantly, using a mixture of trying to spoon feed himself and using his fingers….the ideal way to eat a spag bol! He barely wasted a drop of it and the bowl remained on his tray the whole time. He even picked up the bits he dropped onto his tray that he didn’t want and put them in the bowl when he finished (something he has seen mummy and daddy do after every meal since he began weaning) signifying that he had finished!!

So, we are very unsure whether Bear’s new whiny behaviour is down to a reaction, something else (teeth, etc) or a new phase! (he is going through some changes as he has decided to change his daily routine, waiting longer for his morning nap, now napping at the time he previously wanted lunch and barely touching milk at all now, drinking anywhere up to 3oz only of his morning bottle) I kind of feel that it is a very strong coincidence that he started doing it on day 2 of the trial but as he is otherwise ok (no tummy pain, sickness, etc) we will continue for a little while longer!! By the end of today we would have passed stage 1 and on to stage 2!!!! Well done Bear! x
